Under the direct supervision of the Director of Housing Operations, the Maintenance Team Lead works in partnership with Support Services to ensure the smooth operation of CEC managed properties. The Team Leader will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems as well as overseeing the maintenance team.

Description

The Team Leader will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems as well as overseeing the maintenance team.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Works with Property Management team (i.e., walking apartments, move-in/move-out reports, etc.) to determine weekly apartment make-ready and service request schedules.
- Prepare properties and ensure a passing score for all Federal, State and local agency inspections
- Identify and address maintenance issues, including minor repairs and replacements.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems, and perform necessary repairs.
Hourly Rate: $25.00
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Physical strength, including the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and fit into tight spaces.
- Knowledge of general carpentry.
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
- Ability to use power and hand tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
- General computer literacy.
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
