Description
CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a two Wellness Mentor(s). The Wellness Mentor acts as a leader and role model for members, visitors, and community members of the Wellness Center. The Wellness Mentor understands the Center's mission and operations as well as basic principles of wellness/recovery and peer support. This position works directly with the Wellness Center Manager and in collaboration with members to plan and implement Center operations.
The Wellness Centers are designed to empower people in recovery to realize a lifestyle centered on wellness, a balanced state of social, spiritual, financial, occupational, environmental, mental, emotional, and physical health. CSPNJ oversees the operation of 23 community-based, peer-run centers, including three on grounds at the State Hospitals (Ancora, Trenton, and Greystone).
1.) Part-time | 36 hours p/w | Benefit Eligible (medical, dental, vision) including 6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays
Hourly Rate: $17.50 candidates without a Peer Certificate or related BA *MUST obtain certification within a year*
OR
Hourly Rate: $19.23 candidates with a Peer Certificate
Schedule: 5 days a week; Monday – Friday; Monday: 8 hours, Tuesday – Friday: 7 hours per day

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of work experience in mental health field.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of wellness, the mental health system and community resources.
- Ability to make and maintain contacts and positive relationships with individuals who receive or have received mental health and/or substance abuse services.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly on aspects of their individual recovery.
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
- Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
Salary : $18 - $19
