POSITION SUMMARY

Collaborative Therapy of Long Island has an open position for a Therapist to provide direct clinical services to adolescents, adults, couples and families in Suffolk County. We are a reputable, hard-working, highly-compassionate, creative and client-focused counseling practice in Commack, NY. We'd be delighted to add NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists or Clinical Social Workers that are passionate about helping clients struggling in our community. Specializations in CBT desired, but not required. Spanish speaking is recommended, but not required.

The Right Fit for this Position
We are looking for someone to work in a highly collaborative environment. If you bring your own clients, or can build your own caseload, and are highly motivated to succeed in private practice then you might be the right fit for this position. This position has a flat fee rate per session, however it is a W2 position. This position will start off as part-time with the goal of working immediately to full-time. You will be responsible for building your caseload, with the assistance of our therapist and marketing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your day-to-day role
- Provide individual counseling for adolescents and adults for mental health counseling sessions.
- Make appropriate referrals based on clinical judgments.
- Complete and maintain required documentation in alignment with HIPPA, ethical and legal standards.
- Contribute to building relationships within the larger community through networking, writing and/or participating in civic roles that interest you and reflect the values of our practice.
MINIMUM ESSENTIALS TO SUCCEED
Your education and experience
- Hold a NYS Licensure in one of the counseling professions - this assumes the necessary clinical hours and minimum graduate-level education from an accredited university.
- Significant experience working with, adolescents, adults, couples and/or families in a clinical setting.
- Maintain self-care, healthy boundaries and an openness to continued personal and professional growth.
- Possess a good self-awareness and humility of strengths and weaknesses. As a team we thrive on leveraging each others strengths and compensating for each others weaknesses through other team members' strengths.
- Work and play hard. We work as hard as our clients and rest and recreate when the pressures off. Possessing the emotional intelligence to understand the importance of both and when to incorporate them is critical to being successful on this team.
