Job description : RN Field Nurse Supervisor
Promote and restore clients' health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the client’s care; directing and developing staff; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs; providing physical and psychological support for clients and their families.
Nurse Supervisor responsibilities include; in no particular order :
- Traveling to clients
Manage all clinical and non-clinical staff responsible for client care
Collect and ensure that all new client admission paperwork is completed to the satisfaction of the state(s) regulatory requirements for home healthcare agencies
Ensure all client files are kept in accordance / compliance with all state(s) regulatory guidelines
Ensure that all services comply with company policies & procedures, and that state and federal regulations are followed
Work closely with the internal clinical support team, provide regular updates re : client care, any concerns, or issues with the client’s you are responsible for.
Periodically attend sales and marketing events
Develop, implement, and update client care plan(s) as needed
Perform supervisory visits on all clients in accordance with state(s) regulatory guidelines or as warranted
Conduct supervisory visits and performance reviews of clinical & non-clinical staff in accordance with state(s) regulatory guidelines
Communicate with both internal & external case managers re : client cases you are responsible for
Rotate On-Call duties with other Field Nurse Supervisors
Train new staff on the particulars of each case you are responsible for
Conduct staff in-services for each new client prior to client’s start date.
Work closely with the Staffing Coordinators, i.e., Caregiver Success Team, to ensure that all client shifts are covered, assist in monitoring of staff, and prioritize aide duties.
Provide counseling and guidance to clients and / or their families.
Overall, the Nurse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining up-to-date education regarding home health procedures, nursing, and state laws, so excellent professional communication skills are essential, as well as professionalism, compassion, and a friendly attitude toward clients and staff. Those in this position should always be willing to go “above and beyond” to ensure client satisfaction.
