What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Developer Relations Advocate position at Collate?
Collate is the creator of the fast growing open source OpenMetadata () project, and we’re passionate about transforming the way data teams work together. Collate founders were the creators of Apache Hadoop, Apache Atlas, and Uber Databook, and previously founded and IPO’d Hortonworks. We are on a mission to help every company realize the fullest potential of data through open source, AI Agents, and unified metadata, by solving problems around data discovery, observability and governance that current data catalogs and quality tools fail to address.
As a Senior Developer Relations Advocate, your mission is to work with the team to make OpenMetadata the open source standard for data teams.
Outcomes & Activities :
- Build open source success : Deliver a first class open source experience to the community of users, contributors, and future Collate customers through their maturity journey
- Drive community growth : Grow GitHub stars, Slack community members, online community meeting attendance, website testimonials
- Build technical content : Technical blog posts, how-to videos, product demos, deployment guides, training material, documentation, tutorials, sample code repos, architectures, etc
- Engage with community : Actively answer Slack questions and support committers, participate in Reddit r / DataEngineering, present at practitioner conferences, attend customer meetups and user groups, manage the monthly online community meetings, post on social media
- Carry the voice of the practitioner : Bring back feedback from the practitioner to help inform open source and commercial product feature development, updates to documentation, discussions with the engineering team, etc
