As a US Pawn employee, you will play a key role in assisting customers with pawn transactions, buying and selling various items, and ensuring efficient operations within the store. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing the value of items, negotiating prices, maintaining accurate records, and providing world class customer service. You will work in a fast-paced environment, handling a diverse range of items, and interacting with a wide variety of customers. If you know what it takes to be a ROCKSTAR then THIS IS FOR YOU!



Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer service: Greet customers and provide a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

  • Assist customers with inquiries, appraisals and negotiations.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and address customer concerns.
  • Provide accurate and detailed information about pawned items, prices, and loan processes.

2. Item Appraisal and Valuation:

  • Evaluate items brought in for pawn or sale to determine their authenticity, condition, and value.
  • Negotiate prices with customers based on market value, condition and demand.
  • Keep up to date with current market trends and changes in item values.

3. Pawn Transactions and Loans:

  • Explain the terms and conditions of pawn transactions to customers, including loan amounts, interest rates and redemption periods.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records of pawned items, loans, and customer information.
  • Determine loan amounts based on item value and customer needs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Collect loan payments, extend or renew loans, and follow up on overdue payments.

4. Item Display and Sales:

  • Organize, clean and display merchandise in an attractive and organized manner.
  • Assist customers in finding specific items of interest and provide product information.
  • Negotiate prices and process sales transactions accurately.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory levels and collaborate with management to restock as needed.

5. Security and Compliance:

  • Adhere to security measures to prevent theft and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Follow legal and company policies and procedures regarding pawn transactions, loan regulations, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Previous experience in a pawn shop, retail, customer service, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of various item categories including jewelry, tools, electronics, musical instruments, and other common pawn items.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic math skills to calculate loan amounts, interest rates, and sales prices accurately.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with inventory management.
  • Knowledge of local and state regulations governing pawn transactions and lending practices.
  • Bi-lingual is a plus.
  • Background knowledge in E-Commerce is also a plus.
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
