What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Construction Superintendent position at Collective/Great States?
Great States Construction is looking for our General Construction Superintendent. In the General Superintendent role, you will partner with project superintendents to help deliver our projects on time and on budget. The General Superintendent will be responsible for overall safety, quality control, and resolving job issues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work with project superintendents (on-site) for handling job site issues and challenges
- Attend project process meetings when possible
- Lead the project lead superintendents, superintendents, foreman, and laborers
- Partner with all field teams to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with plans and budget
- Ensure all company equipment is maintained properly
- Interview, hire, provide direction, evaluate performance, and when necessary, coach and discipline the field team members
- Perform site audits and create processes and best practices for the field teams
- Well versed in all scopes of construction systems, and assemblies including civil site work, structural, concrete, framing, finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
- Actively manage risk, safety, and quality to ensure expectations are met on job sites
- Oversee quality control measures to ensure project standards are met
- Ensure all reports and records are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Partner with PM’s and Superintendents for project close –out, including your own final inspection and documentation
- Coordinate all safety meetings and review all procedures for best practices
WHAT YOU BRING TO GREAT STATES:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Clear driving record
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management or similar
- Five years of proven construction experience in the field
- OSHA 30 or other related safety experience
- Ability to travel 75% of the time
