Job Overview: As a Cashier at Collectors Firearms, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to customers at the point of sale. Your duties will include processing transactions accurately, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. You will also assist with maintaining the front-end area of the store and supporting overall store operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and provide prompt and courteous service.
- Assist customers with their purchases, answer questions, and provide information about products and store policies.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally, escalating issues to management as needed.
Transaction Processing:
- Accurately process sales transactions using the store's POS system, including cash, credit/debit card, and other payment methods.
- Ensure all transactions comply with legal and store-specific regulations, including firearm purchase procedures.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges as necessary.
- Cash Handling:
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer, ensuring all transactions are accounted for.
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and report any discrepancies to management.
- Follow all cash handling procedures and security protocols.
Store Maintenance:
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing displays, and general store upkeep.
- Support promotional activities and special events as needed.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding firearm sales and transfers.
- Adhere to store policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in customer service or retail is a plus.
- Proven experience in a cashier or customer service role, preferably in the firearms or sporting goods industry.
- Basic knowledge of firearms, ammunition, and related accessories is beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Must pass a background check and meet all legal requirements to work in a firearms retail environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
