Job Title: Multilingual Learner K-5 Coordinator
Location: Plainfield, NJ
NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB
The “Multilingual Learner K-5 Coordinator" will create and maintain curriculum scope and
sequence of WIDA Multilingual Learner Standards in regards to ELA, math, science, and social
studies; support CAPS curriculum writers with implementation of WIDA Standards and
Sheltered Instruction protocol; support the Supervisor of Multilingual Learners with professional
development of WIDA Standards and CAPS curriculum for CACCS teachers; serve as an
advocate for Multilingual Learners during PLCs and grade level meetings; and provide ML
services to Multilingual Learner students.

Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey ESL certification
- 4 years of teaching Multilingual Learners experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of the WIDA Standards Framework and implementation
- Experience with curriculum writing, innovative instruction, and assessment writing,
- Effective problem solving, human relations, analytical, communication, writing, and

- Works with the Supervisor of Multilingual Learners, Director of Teaching and Learning,
Instruction protocol within the CAPS curriculum
- Teaches a minimum of two and no more than three classes
- Work with project leader(s) to create and/or revise curriculum documents (scope and

- Collaborates with Supervisor of ML to create a system for lesson plans of ML teachers
- Maintains a yearly calendar and timeline to complete applicable WIDA Standards and
- Participates in the training of Multilingual Learners personnel including in-service
- Attends PLC meetings
