Community Engagement Specialist (Special Services)

The Community Engagement Specialist promotes and enhances the overall vision and mission of the school district by providing services that strengthen home/school/community partnerships and alleviates barriers to learning.  The Community Engagement Specialist significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe, and caring environment by advancing the understanding of:

• the social and emotional development of children;
• the influences of family, community, and cultural differences on student success;
• the identification and application of effective intervention and support strategies in collaboration with building administrators and student assistance teams.

?LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in field relevant to this position;
• Five years of successful experience working in social services or a related field;
• A valid State of Iowa driver’s license;
• A valid mandatory abuse training certificate
• Valid bloodborne pathogens and right to know training certificates
• Successful completion of criminal background investigation
• Willingness to obtain chauffeur's license at district cost
