Assistant Director of Network & Video Production
Assistant Director of Network & Video Production supports College of Charleston Athletics department in recruiting, fundraising, and building the brand through broadcasting and creative video. This position will work with our 17 varsity sports and administration to create engaging content, as well as support all web-streaming broadcast needs. This job reports directly to the Director of Network & Video Production.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years video editing and / or live production experience. The ability to keep up with social media trends for content. Experience in planning, setting up, producing / directed, and striking a live production setup. Understanding of how to operate in a professional workplace. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and / or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Significant experience with non-linear editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro). Working knowledge of live production equipment (Blackmagic, TriCaster, 3Play, LiveText, Motion Rocket). Ability to plan, shoot, and edit videos from start to finish independently. Keeps up to date with best practices for live production in athletics relating to camera angles, graphics, equipment, etc. Preferred knowledge in Adobe After Effects and / or Apple Motion, sound editing, and Adobe Photoshop.
Responsibilities
- Produce creative content for College of Charleston athletics media platforms and in-venue displays (55% of time).
- Setup, direct, and strike some College of Charleston athletics events to FloSports (20% of time).
- Be the video board operator for all College of Charleston home men’s basketball games (10% of time).
- Assist in hiring, training, and scheduling Charleston Sports Network staff and / or other gameday personnel to effectively run events (5% of time).
- Assist in planning & execution of the ESPN Charleston Classic and other TD Arena & Patriots Point events (i.e. graduation, tip-off dinner, first pitch banquet, etc.) (5% of time).
- Plan meetings with key stakeholders on certain projects to ensure proper communication (5% of time).
