Job Title: Instructional Coach Elementary ELAR/SS

Pay Grade: Teacher Pay Scale
Wage Status: Exempt
Days: 187
Primary Purpose:
Build capacity in educators’ abilities to implement quality instruction to customize learning to ensure success for all learners.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university
Master’s Degree in Education preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for
subject and level assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge in the use of research-based strategies.
Demonstrated effectiveness as an elementary teacher and/or teacher trainer/
mentor.
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject areas.
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in teaching.
Experience in training and mentoring/coaching adults preferred
Campus leadership experience
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides in-classroom coaching using the coaching cycle
- Provide job embedded professional development for staff through modeling engaging standards-based teaching as needed
- Facilitates communication and coordination between all stakeholders to improve alignment of instruction and increase student success.
- Facilitates the development and implementation of campus initiatives that align to district goals
- Works closely with teachers in all areas of classroom instruction including;
- curriculum alignment and implementation
- lesson design
- classroom management
- selection and implementation of instructional materials
- analysis of student work and data
- facilitates student growth measure implementation and data collection
- Serves as a resource to campus administrators in determining professional development needs
- Serves on the campus leadership team
- Prepares and submits reports as required
- Participates in planning and presenting staff development as determined by campus and district needs
- Works with/and facilitates adult learners
- Attends required conferences and meetings
- Researches, reviews and recommends instructional materials and methods
- Provides curriculum and instructional training for paraprofessionals
- Maintains Time and Effort documentation required of federal programs.
- Peform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
