Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CHCM/CSU roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay at CHCM/CSU in good faith believing it might pay for this particular job based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
Job Description:
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
To coat paint, varnish, stains enamels or lacquer to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures of the hospital.
QUALIFICATIONS
Effective communication in English. Familiar with and knowledgeable of the operation of painting care equipment’s and related repairs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasional sitting for long periods of time. Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional pulling and pushing up to 75 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing to a normal range. Finger dexterity. Occasional exposure to stressful situations. Frequent contact with public.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Constant exposure to noise. Occasional exposure to blood bourne pathogens. Occasional exposure to chemicals and general cleaning agents. Shift hours may vary dependent upon the department needs to include weekends and holidays.
MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Functions with an awareness of patient safety issues and applies basic principles of safety as identified within the facility.
Follows the occurrence reporting policy and procedure in reporting any potential safety issues.
Job Specific Duties
Demonstrates the basic knowledge of painting principles. Familiar with painting materials, tools and equipment.
Effectively maintains interior/exterior beautification of the hospital building.
Effectively maintains areas needing drywall repair.
Maintains adequate inventory of materials needed.
Reports deficiencies and problems immediately.
Evaluates the daily need of various areas and attends to accordingly.
Applies safety procedures and steps when using painting equipment. Wears safety goggles when painting.
Asks questions and seeks information needed to complete tasks and duties.
Performs and completes assignments; provides follow through on assignments while providing consistent quality and quantity of work.
Effectively performs additional duties, as position requires.
