Mental Health Worker
Job Summary:
College Hospital is seeking Mental Health Workers to provide care to patients in private practice settings. The position requires candidates who are comfortable working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff, document patient notes, and follow up on any outstanding issues. The position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient notes, charts, and electronic medical records.
Openings: (Overtime Available)
2 fulltime openings M-F PM shift for DDMI Adult.
1 fulltime opening M-F PM shift for EICU.
1 fulltime opening M-F PM shift for Adol DDMI.
1 fulltime opening M-F NOC shift for EICU.
1 opening Sat & Sun 7am-730pm for DDMI Adult.**
1 opening Sat & Sun 7pm-730am for NICU.**
2 openings Sat & Sun 7pm-730am for DDMI Adult.**
**Extra one (1) or two (2) 8-hour shifts may be elected by candidate if available depending on staffing needs.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively adheres to goals of established Behavior Intervention Plan for each patient.
- Demonstrates awareness of hospital and department policies.
- Assists patients to achieve pre-established goals through use of the therapeutic milieu.
- Demonstrates competence in measurement and documentation of vital signs, weight, food and fluid intake, output and ADLs.
- Practice concise, timely, and legible documentation of patient behavior, reactions, and level of participation in Group Notes.
- Collect data based on patient's behavior plan.
- Performs effectively in emergency situations taking direction from licensed nursing staff and following established protocols.
- Responds to unit needs with flexibility regarding schedules and resolution of staffing conflicts.
- Effectively performs additional duties and responsibilities and position requires.
Job Requirements:
- BLS or ACLS for Healthcare Providers.
- Basic computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Experience in mental health setting preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.91 per hour
