What are the responsibilities and job description for the The Amy Resident Council - General Opening position at College Housing Northwest?
Position: Resident Council - General Member
Compensation: $55/month rent credit (per meeting attended)
Commitment: Through June 2025, 1 meeting per month, other miscellaneous meetings and events as interested.
Purpose: A volunteer, resident-driven organization that seeks to enhance the living experience of all CHNW residents. The vision of the resident council is fulfilled via:
- Receiving continual feedback from residents
- Building community via facilitating programming
- Representing student voice via advising the CHNW board of directors and organization
- Advocacy for changes and ideas
General Members Duties:
- Attend monthly Resident Council meetings.
- Regularly and explicitly engage in gathering resident feedback
- Participate in facilitating at least one event in your term as a general member
- Engage in proposal writing to CHNW administration
General Council Expectations:
- Conduct yourself in alignment with the community standards that match your lease agreement
- Collaborate with the CHNW community including community assistants, management, and board members to provide feedback
- Communicate, in advance, any absence from council meetings noting that more than two absences (outside of extenuating circumstances) will result in dismissal from the resident council
- Be a steward of the organization, representing CHNW’s mission and history
