POSITION TITLE: Data and Reporting Specialist
STATUS: Non-Exempt
STANDARD HOURS: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., some after-hours work may be required
LOCATION: Hybrid after initial training period; approximately 40% remote/60% downtown office depending on project work; some travel required for meetings (approx. quarterly)
REPORTS TO: Manager of Data Services
ASSIGNED TO: Data Services
SALARY: Starting at $50,000 annually and increases with relevant experience
Position Summary:
The Data & Reporting Specialist supports College Now’s comprehensive data dissemination effort through requirements gathering, outcomes reporting, systems training, and supporting all interfaces between end users and their respective data and information systems.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with constituents throughout the organization to design, build, maintain, and continuously improve reports and dashboards used in program evaluation, client tracking, and internal auditing
- Perform and communicate results of data analyses used in internal and external evaluations
- Lead and/or support for user trainings on data systems; assist in creating and updating training materials
- Coach and train end users on best practices related to data entry, data tools, and information systems
- Resolve help desk tickets regarding data and information system issues
- Contribute to and maintain data dictionaries, catalogs, and glossaries for consistent data analysis and reporting
- Assist with data cleaning, data normalization, and data migration projects as needed
- Contribute to system design and testing as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Technology, or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of relevant coursework and work experience
- Minimum three years of experience in a role building reports, dashboards, and/or other tools used for data analyses
- Must have experience with a business intelligence tool such as Microsoft Power BI
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite with a particularly strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Required Excel skills include formulas (VLOOKUP, COUNTIFS, etc.), data cleaning tools, and Power Query
- Experience working an Office 365 environment is preferred
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment where speed, attention to detail, ability to balance multiple priorities, and responsiveness are valued and have demonstrated ability to establish and follow technical standards
- Superior organizational skills and a willingness to learn, develop and share knowledge are required
Preferred:
- Experience with a CRM system such as Salesforce
- Familiarity with relational databases and/or Microsoft SQL Server
