Job Summary
This is a 19.5 hour per week maximum, part-time student position. The Resident Assistant (RA) is a live-in, part-time, current College of Coastal Georgia student employee in the residence hall. This position requires employees who are able to positively represent this Office and the College to various internal and external constituents with a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
The student employee must have effective writing, verbal communication skills, and Microsoft Office skills. Student employees must have a high level of integrity as they may come into contact with confidential information. The RA will act as an information resource on the floor and in the residence halls, maintain a high level of ethical standards and always display a positive attitude. The RA will maintain the safety and security of the residence halls and report concerns to professional staff members in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
This position is designated by the institution as a Position of Trust and as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
The work schedule is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Students are not to work during scheduled class time, even if class is cancelled or dismissed early.
Responsibilities
- Act as an information resource
- Host programs and events for students to attend
- Perform administrative front desk duties
- Perform check in and check out duties
- Act as a Campus Security Authority (CSA)
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at all times
- Must have and maintain a semester and cumulative 2.5 grade point average
Other Required Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug test and is subject to random drug testing
- May not be employed in more than one job at a time on campus
Proposed Salary
- Paid housing and meal plan
- $400 per semester
