Job Summary
This position requires teaching DMD 117 : Concepts in New Media as part of the Associate in Applied Science degrees and certificates in the Digital Media and Design Department. This course is an introductory evaluation of the critical concepts of new media, and their impact on our society and culture. Two sections are available, one in-person and one virtual live on Canvas.

Through readings, lectures, group discussions and hands-on experience, students will study the technical, economic, political, legal, aesthetic, and cultural implications of new media.

Required Qualification(s)
- Bachelors degree in digital media, computer art, media arts, film / video production, animation, audio recording arts, visual communication, OR interactive design OR a related discipline AND three (3) years of tested experience.
- Competency in technologies commonly used in college level instruction.
- Ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- At least six (6) graduate credit hours in media study, social / cultural study, religion, humanities, philosophy, or communications.
