What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookstore Associate position at College of Southern Idaho?
Assists the Bookstore Manager and Bookstore staff with daily operations of the College of Southern Idaho Bookstore through cashiering, receiving, inventory, web orders and social media.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs general cashiering responsibilities accurately and efficiently while greeting and assisting customers with exemplary customer service.
- Answers College of Southern Idaho Bookstore general emails and phone calls filtering those with specific needs.
- Assists in the Shipping and Receiving processes of receiving, pricing, and stocking and returns of textbooks, supplies, and general merchandise.
- Supports the Operations Manager with the picking, fulfillment, processing, and packaging of Bookstore web orders.
- Works with the Supply and Merchandise Buyer to maintain sufficient inventory on sales floor.
- Helps the Operations Manager keep the Bookstore social media platforms current.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
- Ability to provide quality professional customer service.
- Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, organize own work, and coordinate work activities with others.
- Consistent demonstration of teamwork.
- Ability to quickly learn new tasks and skills.
- Cashiering experience recommended.
- Proficient with MS Office 365, Internet and social media.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
This position is part-time 19.5 hours per week position with flexible hours. Might be required to come in early and stay late to cover extended hours and Saturdays when necessary. Position involves working in retail setting and some office work which includes standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, lifting and some repetitive motion. In some cases, might need to lift up to 40 pounds.
