What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early College Coordinator position at College of Southern Idaho?
Under the Direction of the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) Director of Student Access, the Early College Coordinator (ECC) works in multiple high school locations to help students successfully define their education and career aspirations, while providing a broad spectrum of purposeful student services, and support. This position will be focused on developing relationships with the local high school teams and students they service. The ECC will also advocate the value of a postsecondary education, including workforce training, CTE, and apprenticeships, to help students achieve individual education goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as the postsecondary Early College Coordinator at multiple high school locations, which will include travel to various locations.
- Assist high school staff, students and CSI Student Services teams with Dual Enroll processes and application.
- Proactively works as an integral partner with the CSI Admissions Recruiting and Enrollment Specialist teams to assist and support students through the transition and enrollment processes.
- Distribute and collect Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) between CSI and assigned high school locations.
- Work with students one-on-one and in small group settings to help students create their own academic and college plans utilizing Dual Credit course offerings and ensure a clear path to successful postsecondary education and access to career fields.
- Assist students in the completion of enrollment processes which includes, but is not limited to: admission application, course registration, certificate of residency form, financial aid, and student orientation registration.
- Diligently works with high school teams to form relationships with Administration, Counselors, College and Career Advisors, Advanced Opportunities Coordinators and Dual Credit Instructors to facilitate information back and forth from Department to High Schools programs on a monthly basis.
- Work with assigned CSI specific Academic Departments to facilitate information back and forth from Department to Early College programs on a monthly basis.
- When not serving at high schools be proactive in reaching out to students, as well as a campus contact for phone calls, students’ walk-ins, and email services.
- Collaboratively work with school district personnel to develop a strategic plan which identifies and retains student participants in the Early College program.
- Coordinate college recruitment and transition activities with respective campus offices and staff (i.e. Admissions, Enrollment Services, Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid Office, Office of Student Affairs, faculty, department chairs, and focus area advisors).
- Enthusiastically participate in high school sponsored functions that promote college attainment which include post-secondary testing and school sponsored tours.
- Utilize IR data tools to collect, retrieve, and analyze student information at the respective high schools for recruiting and transition purposes as a regular job functionality.
- Connect students to the State of Idaho Advanced Opportunities state aid in order to help students navigate their K-12 education and provide support to earn college credit in high school.
- When available, participate in campus events with the ECC respective high schools in attendance.
- Actively engage and include students’ parents or guardians in the postsecondary planning process through various Early College functions throughout the State of Idaho.
- Maintain current knowledge of Idaho State Board of Education Advanced Opportunities Governing Policies and The National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships Accreditation Standards.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Associates degree (Bachelor’s degree in Leadership or Higher Education, or related field preferred) from an accredited college or university.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Road travel to various high school sites.
- Ability to work a flexible as schedule may include late afternoon, evenings, and occasional weekends during certain periods of the year.
- Will require the use of a personal, reliable vehicle. Mileage relating to and from high schools from an established base (campus or off-campus center) will be reimbursed at the institutional rate.
