What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant Program Lab Assistant (Part Time) position at College of Southern Idaho?
Working under the direction of the Medical Assistant Program Director, this position provides assistance to students for the program director and practicum coordinator as needed when they are unavailable to students. This is a part-time position (6-10 hours per week).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instructing (demonstrating and/or coaching) students in various aspects of medical assisting within clinical labs.
- Assessing student progress in achieving theory and performance requirements of the program (skills validation), in collaboration with the program manager to ensure Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB) standards are met:

Qualifications / Skills:
- Knowledgeable in medical assisting course content by virtue of education and/or work experience.
- Effective in directing student learning with laboratory performance by virtue of education and/or work experience.
- Enjoy working with a variety of students from various backgrounds, ages, and education levels.
- Positive attitude with ability to work well with other instructors and program manager.
- Professional communication skills.
- Willing to take classes to improve teaching and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to travel as necessary.
- Excellent computer skills.
