Description
The role of the Scanning Technician is to support the College's aim to achieve compliance in relation to the records retention and disposition schedule by leading the digitization effort to convert paper documents to image, performing quality control of images and indexing document images in a meaningful manner.
The Scanning Technician will report to the Compliance Officer.
Examples of Duties
- Prepare documents for entry into the imaging system by removing staples, paper clips, duplicate forms and unnecessary forms
- Index batches of data once scanned into the imaging system
- Check the quality of documents during scanning
- Match corresponding paperwork to accounts
- Prepare, sort, scan, review, and index documents for electronic imaging
- Meet quality and deadline standards by the effective use of job scheduling practices
- General office duties
- Compile reports as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Typical Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some administrative experience
- An Associate degree from a regionally accredited college
- One year of data entry experience

- Be sensitive to the need for confidentiality
- Maintain the security of confidential materials
- Work independently with minimum supervision
- Position involves high volume document scanning, which involves sitting behind a desk and constantly scanning documents with a provided production goal
- Exposure to odor, dust, heat, cold, and other outside elements
