Short Term Employee Payroll Services
$21.00 /hour
This temporary, hourly position will assist the Director of Payroll Services in the Payroll Department on the Valencia Campus.
Example of Duties
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the accuracy of requests for employee voluntary deductions and complying with underlying regulations for voluntary and required payroll deductions.
- Provide general clerical support to the payroll team.
- Assist with basic data entry and routine report preparation.
- Support the maintenance of records and files related to employee information.
- Assist with reviewing timesheets, leave forms, and related documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in verifying forms and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
Desirable Qualifications:
- Payroll experience working in an educational institution or public agency system.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel).
- Experience using an administrative database (such as HRS, Datatel, or PeopleSoft).
We need individuals who can:
- Perform various clerical duties, including but not limited to keying correspondence, reports, and forms, copying and filing documents, faxing information, establishing and maintaining files, distributing County reports, and attend department meetings.
- Assist in providing information and documents requested by faculty, staff, students, and other miscellaneous requests.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and work effectively with limited supervision and frequent interruptions.

Requirements to apply to be considered for the position:
- Available from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Some additional hours may be required on a flexible basis during the week.
This is a temporary, hourly assignment, renewed on an annual basis, and is not part of the classified service. There are no fringe benefits, and this position is not represented by any of the District’s collective bargaining units.
