What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Utility position at College of the Holy Cross?
JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform a variety of cleaning and washing duties including cleaning pots, pans, machinery, equipment, utensils, floors, etc., following prescribed routines and practices. Follow chemical labels and instructions on all cleaning supplies per MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and perform proper handling of equipment. Set up and operate dish machine and other cleaning equipment. Pick up and dispose of trash, debris, garbage, and waste. Sweep and clean designated areas. Assist in cleaning dining and serving rooms. Organize and collect equipment for catered events. Maintain assigned work area in a neat and orderly manner. Perform other similar or related duties as required or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Good customer service and communication skills are needed to provide a welcoming, friendly and professional manner to all our guests. Ability to follow chemical labels and instructions on all cleaning materials and equipment. Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance. Previous experience in food service preferred.
DAYS & HOURS:
Must be flexible. Due to the needs of the Dining department, catering events and the academic calendar, schedules may change. Holy Cross Dining staff are considered Emergency Essential Personnel and are required to report during times of inclement weather.
Standard Schedule: DAYS & HOURS: Tuesday - Saturday / 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM
