Job Summary
The Office of Student Accessibility Services is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students with disabilities. We are hiring two Testing Center Assistants who will report to the Operations Manager. These assistants will help administer testing accommodations for current students entitled to these services under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accommodations may include extended time on tests, distraction-reduced testing, and stop-the-clock testing.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Schedule dates and times for testing sessions with professors and students.
- Receive exams from professors, either scanned or in hard copy.
- Return completed exams to professors, either scanned or in hard copy.
- Greet students in the testing center and ensure they place their backpacks, phones, and coats out of reach.
- Proctor exams in progress, which includes monitoring cameras and managing the storage of recorded footage.
- Address any student questions regarding their professors during exams by contacting professors via cell phone or email.
- Open and close the Testing Center daily.
- Maintain a clean environment, clearing away pencil shavings, erasures, trash, etc.
- Keep supplies well-stocked, including pencils, pens, Chromebooks, calculators, earplugs, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Some postsecondary education and relevant experience.
- Available consistently either in the mornings or afternoons.
- Capable of maintaining professional interactions with college students, professors, and staff.
- Possesses strong organizational and scheduling skills.
- Sensitive to the test anxiety that students may experience before, during, and immediately after exams.
- Proficient with computers and peripherals, including email, scanning, and video camera recording.
- A team player.
- Able to maintain positive working relationships with supervisors.
Schedule:
Shift Availability-Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule spans a total of 13 weeks per semester, both Fall and Spring semesters, for a total of 26 weeks during the academic year.
