What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT- Computer Lab Assistant position at College of the Mainland?
Position Details
The Computer Lab Assistant will be expected to work with integrity, sound judgment, attention to detail, discretion, and to demonstrate the characteristics of teamwork, inclusiveness, calmness, and adaptability to a broad range of issues, people, and situations. They will be flexible in order to best meet the demands of the students and the needs of the department.
- Applicable computer programs and using computers and related software;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Record keeping principles;
- Prioritizing tasks;
- Monitor records and files;
- Ability to inventory supplies;
- Basic computer maintenance;
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
- Ensure all visitors to the lab sign-in and monitor utilization of the lab;
- Address lab visitors’ questions and help them print, copy and scan;
- Troubleshooting hardware problems and submit work orders as needed;
- Identify and stay abreast of contemporary trends in lab/classroom technology;
- Maintaining a professional learning environment for the students;
- Monitor supplies in the lab;
- Be proactive, creative, and accurate, as well as to work independently as a departmental member.
- Perform additional related job duties as required.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work requires stooping, crouching, talking, seeing, hearing, repetitive motions.
- Work requires sedentary work/sitting greater than 50% of the time.
