What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT- Supplemental Instructor (SI) Leader position at College of the Mainland?
Position Details
Successfully completed content – specific courses and all prerequisites with a B or higher.
Accumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
Must be recommended by a current COM instructor and have successfully completed a course with the instructor.
Ability to lead students in discussions and review sessions in content – specific areas.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
Ability to maintain records.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Fluency in Microsoft Office, including MS Word and Powerpoint; ability to learn additional software as needed.
Ability to operate standard office, computer, and video recording equipment.
Attend all assigned classes, be on time, take notes and participate upon request of instructor.
Hold review sessions for students as requested by instructor.
Act in a professional manner.
Keep accurate record of all students who attend review sessions.
Report to instructor which students attend review sessions.
Correspond with instructor prior to class and/or review session if unable to attend.
Keep accurate time log of all classes attended and review sessions held.
Report time log to Director of Tutoring before the end of each month.
Submit time log on Web Advisor for Director of Tutoring approval.
Work requires stooping, crouching, and repetitive motions.
Work requires sedentary work/sitting up to 50% of the time.
Occasionally may have to lift up to 20 lbs.
