What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Christian Formation position at College of the Ozarks?
The College of the Ozarks invites applicants to fill the position of Director of Christian Formation. The Director of Christian Formation provides leadership in developing and managing programming that promotes individual and communal Christian formation and leads our campus ministry for women. The Director of Christian Formation reports to the VP for Student Development and Christian Ministries. This role leads others spiritually.
The successful candidate must embrace the College’s Christ-centered mission and five-fold vision.
- Serve as a pastoral presence with the student body that is inclusive of all ages and stages of spiritual maturity.
- Support the goals of the Christian Ministries department across curricular and co-curricular programs campus wide.
- Provide and promote Christian programming for the campus community, including Bible studies, classes, workshops, retreats, and events (this would include leading the campus theme committee).
- Develop and lead Christian discipleship opportunities for women on campus.
- Provide both training and praxis for leadership development in the campus community, specifically related to Christ-like character and service.
- Manage Christian development through Christian Ministry, intended to influence and empower employees and students to seek spiritual maturity and service.
- Serve others on campus as well as the larger community.
- Provide practical opportunities for students to engage with the challenges they will face in a secular culture.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Professional degree in Christian Formation, theology, counseling, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- 4 years related pastoral ministry/counseling and leadership development experience required
