What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Safety Officer Position position at College of the Ozarks?
The College of the Ozarks is looking for a public safety staff officer. The general duties of the staff officers include general patrol of the campus, building security (locking and unlocking facilities on a set schedule), regulating access to the campus through the front gates, directing traffic, and parking cars for special events. The public safety department provides 24/7 coverage, which often requires working, holidays, and varied shifts. The successful applicant should possess basic knowledge of public safety and security standards and regulations, as well as demonstrate strong qualities that will represent the five-fold mission of the College through Academic, Vocational, Christian, Cultural, and Patriotic Missions. Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic Law Enforcement certification is preferred, but not required. This position is full-time with benefits.
