What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Resource Center Specialist position at College of the Sequoias Community College District?
Under the Direction of the Training Resource Center Director, the Training Resource Center Specialist will perform a variety of technical and administrative duties in the day –to- day operation of the Training Resource Center. Will be responsible for coordinating and implementing specialized duties related to contract education, community education and grant related activities to enable the Training Resource Center to meets its goals.
This position is a 12-month, full-time position.
Monday –Friday 7:45 a.m. -4:45 p.m.
Initial placement is at $59,093.00
This position is grant funded through the Employment Training Panel Grant

Job duties of the Training Resource Center Specialist include:- Organize, schedule and perform a wide variety of specialized clerical, administrative and technical support duties related to assigned, not-for-credit, fee based contract education, community education, and grant related activities.
- Organize, schedule and perform a variety of specialized clerical and administrative duties in support of the Training Resource Center operation and to relieve the administrator of a variety of clerical, technical and routine administrative duties.
- Organize, update and maintain the Training Resource Center web site.
- Assist with the planning, coordinating and hosting of events for the recruitment and overall marketing of the Training Resource Center services.
- Prepare and edit a wide variety of materials such as correspondence, reports, forms, applications, brochures and flyers, including materials for promotional and marketing purposes.
- Compile information and prepare periodic reports and statistical data related to the Training Resource Center operations.
- Provide information and assistance and respond to requests for information to clients, students, staff and the general public regarding Training Resource Center services.
- Coordinate communication and activities internally, with other educational institutions, vendors, other outside organizations and the public, as assigned.
- Establish and maintain a cooperative, team oriented and effective working relationships with staff and others.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in the interpretation and application of operating processes and procedures; obtain and provide information, coordinate activities and resolve issues.
- Train and provide work direction to others in support of the Training Resource Center operational processes.
- Prepare correspondence and documentation independently or from oral instructions.
- Prepare agenda items for meetings as required; take and transcribe minutes and distribute to appropriate personnel as required; maintain records for meetings as required.
- Greet office visitors and initiate and answer telephone calls; screen and direct calls and visitors to appropriate personnel; take message as necessary.
- Maintain a variety of records, logs and files including information of a confidential nature; maintain confidentiality of information and records.
- Receive, open and route mail.
- Operate a variety of office equipment such as computers, calculators and copy machines. Maintain department supplies, forms and equipment.
- Utilize the District’s integrated software in performing the required duties of the position.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):
Any combination equivalent to: two years of relevant college–level course work in computer applications and business (office skills) and three years increasingly responsible secretarial and clerical experience.
