General Description
Under the direction of the Foundation Director, the Foundation Specialist will coordinate the College of the Sequoias scholarship program, maintain effective relationships with donors and recipients, and assist in various Foundation office activities.
This is a Part-Time 12 month position 24 hours a week.
M -TH 7:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. and F 7:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Initial placement is at $26.40

Job Duties
• Coordinate the College of the Sequoias scholarship program.• Maintain excellent communications with scholarship donors and recipients using correct English, grammar, and spelling.• Develop, discuss, and implement the establishment of new scholarships.• Receive donations and record transactions; prepare check requests; provide follow-up and refund services as appropriate.• Work independently, plan and organize work, and work confidentially with discretion.• Maintain a variety of records, files and reports regarding the scholarship program including detailed ledgers, correspondence and receipts and other related matters; prepare accurate reports for submission according to established time lines.• Input and perform various entry functions on the computer using word processing, spreadsheet, database and other appropriate software; operate a variety of office equipment.• Utilize integrated software in performing required duties of the position.• Remain current concerning policies and regulations pertaining to scholarship qualifications and regulations.• Select, train, and provide work direction to assigned student workers.• Assist with special events, public relations, and other events/activities of the Foundation/Institutional Advancement office.• Utilize the District's integrated software in performing the required duties of the position.• Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):
Any combination equivalent to:
• Graduation from high school and• Two years of responsible clerical experience involving public contact and• College - level coursework in computer applications.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Experience completing reports using spreadsheets• Experience mail merging spreadsheets with documents• Experience utilizing college database software such as Banner, EIS, Scholarship Manager

• Scholarship programs goals and objectives.
• Special events planning and details of such events.
• Appropriate Foundation procedures and policies.
• Modern office policies, practices, methods, procedures and equipment.
• Operation, procedures and precedent of office to which assigned.
• Record-keeping techniques.
• Word processing, spreadsheet and data base software programs.
• English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• District organization, operations, policies and objections.
• Applicable sections of State Education Codes.
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
• Telephone techniques and etiquette.
• Technical aspects for field of specialty.
Ability to:
• Coordinate the College of the Sequoias scholarship program.
• Plan and organize work.
• Maintain effective relationships with donors and recipients.
• Assist with coordination of special events.
• Analyze and resolve difficult and sensitive situations.
• Prepare and compose correspondence.
• Input and perform various entry functions on the computer terminal using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and other appropriate software.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
• Type accurately and rapidly.
• Learn quickly to apply specific rules, policies and procedures of the specific office or program to which assigned.
• Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer, typewriter, calculator, printer and computer terminal using a wide variety of related software.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Work confidentially with discretion
• Make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
• Work independently with little direction.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Meet schedules and time lines.
