FULL SALARY RANGE : $71,365 to $130,597
195-DAY CONTRACT / FULL-TIME TENURE TRACK
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Student Services and with direction from the Student Access Services (SAS) Director, the counselor will provide direct academic, career, and personal counseling services to students in the SAS program. The Counselor works with a minimum of supervision to perform the counseling functions.
This is a full-time faculty position with a 195-day contract. The position is being advertised as a full-time tenure track position. The successful candidate will be trained and allowed to gain the required time to become minimally qualified to become the Counselor of SAS.
The College is seeking applications from individuals who have the desired characteristics and skills necessary to provide exemplary service to students. Candidates must have one of the master's degrees in the minimum qualifications but may still qualify for the position if they do not meet the required time of two years full-time experience, or the equivalent in one or more of the following :
- Counseling for students with disabilities; or
- Counseling in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities are for person with disabilities, or the equivalent

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in rehabilitation counseling
Master's degree in counseling, guidance counseling, student personnel, clinical or counseling psychology, education counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, marriage family and child counseling, or a Bachelor's degree in marriage and family therapy or in marriage family and child counseling and possession of a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT); and either 15 or more semester units in upper division or graduate level coursework related to people with disabilities, or completion of 6 semester units, or the equivalent of a graduate-level counseling practicum or counseling field work courses, in a post-secondary Disabled Students Programs and Services program or in a program dealing with people with disabilities, or two years of full time experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following :

Selection Process :
After the preliminary screening, selected candidates will be invited for an initial interview with the Search Committee. First level interviews may be in person or by Zoom. Candidates to be interviewed will be selected from applicants who most closely meet the minimum and desired qualifications. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview. The Search Committee will recommend a slate of finalists to the Vice President of Student Services for a final interview.

Conditions of Employment :
