Title IV Compliance Director

Key Responsibilities:

The Title IV Compliance Director, reporting directly to the Executive Director of Financial Aid. In this pivotal role, you will develop and implement strategies to ensure our institution's adherence to all relevant federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies related to federal student aid. You will manage compliance in the administration of financial aid, develop and execute compliance strategies, and provide guidance to faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are met.

  • Stay informed about federal and state legislative and regulatory developments, as well as institutional policies related to financial aid and academic programs. Identify and interpret regulations impacting the campus community and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Financial Aid to develop, review, and update policies and procedures related to financial aid administration, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Coordinate documentation and reports for audits, including Student Financial Aid audits, Department of Defense audits, and Department of Education program reviews. Develop and implement corrective action plans in response to audit findings, working with campus stakeholders.

  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and other external stakeholders regarding financial aid compliance matters.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance program to detect, prevent, and resolve issues related to federal and state regulations concerning student financial aid.

  • Review scholarship awarding processes to ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance with donor stipulations and state and federal regulations.

  • Oversee cross-functional regulations, including Consumer Information, Gainful Employment, and NC-SARA reporting and disclosures.

  • Assess academic programs for compliance with federal student aid regulations, ensuring alignment with evolving standards and workforce readiness.

  • Reconcile federal, state, and institutional scholarship, grant, loan, and work-study funding.

  • Provide training to campus stakeholders (faculty, staff, and administrators) to enhance their understanding of compliance requirements, procedures, and best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a college or university financial aid office with a focus on regulatory compliance.

  • NASFAA Credentials preferred.

  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies related to financial aid.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance and integrity within the financial aid office and across the institution.

  • In-depth knowledge of Title IV federal regulations related to financial aid and their campus-wide impacts.

  • Experience in policy development and implementation related to financial aid.

  • Proven experience in managing people, including performance management, coaching, and professional development.
