Job Duties

Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region—and its rural setting featuring 750 acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove.

Richard Bland College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Head Women’s Volleyball Coach for the Indoor/Beach program. This position is responsible for all phases of the nationally competitive volleyball program (Indoor and Beach) to include planning, organizing, and supervising within the guidelines and expectations of Richard Bland College, Region 10, and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Over the past four seasons Richard Bland Volleyball has won an indoor National Championship and a National Runner Up in beach along with remaining in the Top 20 each of those seasons. We are looking for the next successful candidate to carry on with this tradition.

This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics. Primary duties include recruiting and assisting with the education and development of the student athlete. This includes instruction on how to perform their sport, balance academic and athletic commitments, maintain their health, and work as a team both in their sport and as part of the school.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Considerable coaching experience (High School, Club or College) or playing experience as a collegiate athlete
• Documented experience with recruiting student athletes
  

Additional Considerations

• Documented success as a volleyball coach at the NJCAA, NAIA, or NCAA level
• Experience with the management of students and complex student schedules
• Playing or coaching experience in outdoor or beach volleyball
