Job Title: Children’s Ministries Assistant
Purpose Statement:
The Children’s Ministries Assistant, along with the Sunday Ministries team, exists to ignite a passion to follow Jesus in the lives of children (birth – 6th grade) and their families. The Children’s Ministries Assistant will provide administrative support for College Park’s ministry to children, volunteers, and parents. This role is under the direction of the Assistant Pastor of Children’s Ministries.

Responsibilities:
Children’s Ministries Database and Resource Management
- Create, manage, and track attendance, volunteer information, events, registrations, outgoing communication, and family information in church database.
- Maintain and order inventory of materials for regular programming, scheduled events, volunteer requests, and Children’s staff needs.
- Manage Children’s calendar, email account, and digital files.
Communication Support
- Assemble Children’s Newsletter.
- Create, print, and distribute teaching, promotional, or communication materials when needed.
- Learn and use Canva to create signage and to help with digital design elements.
- Work with Communications team on more detailed Children’s communication needs.
Supporting Children’s Ministries
- Provide support for major Children’s events (kidTHINK, kidREACH, summer events, volunteer appreciation, etc.)
- Provide administrative support for Sunday School and Park Night.
- Provide administrative support and scheduling assistance for Assistant Pastor of Children’s Ministries.
- Take meeting notes for all necessary meetings.
General Responsibilities
- Attend all church and department staff meetings and events required for this position.
- Assist with the application of the vision for Children’s Ministries at College Park.
- Together with the Children’s, Student, and Adult Discipleship teams, strengthen the partnership between the church and parents to nurture the faith of children and students.
- Plan and participate in additional Children’s-specific and churchwide events as directed.
- Complete any additional task delegated from the Pastor of Sunday Ministries.
- Additional duties as directed.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in a related field.
- Experience in database creation and maintenance, technological training and
- experience, event planning and oversight, hospitality, creating and maintaining
- web content, and communication with other departments/ministries preferred.
- Capable of resolving conflict and handling difficult circumstances with wisdom,
- maturity, discernment, and confidentiality.
- This role requires strong technical skills, including ability to quickly grasp and troubleshoot programs such as Ministry Platform, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- This role requires strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to make decisions independently.
- Candidate must exhibit mature Christian character which includes regular disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer, and participation in church life.
- Candidate needs to either be a current member of College Park Church or willing to pursue membership within 6 months.
Work Schedule:
- This is a part-time, hourly, and non-exempt role totaling 15-18 hours weekly primarily Monday-Thursday, schedule flexible based on Children’s Ministries’ needs.
- Attendance at staff meetings and other staff functions required.
