What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at College Park Housing?
Responsible for the planning, organizing, and scheduling of the maintenance of the community including custodial, grounds keeping and general maintenance operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Engages in painting and performing basic repairs to masonry, woodwork and furnishing of buildings.
- Engages in the maintenance and repair of stairs, railings, gates, fences, patios, roofing, gutters, tile, carpet, flooring, fireplaces, ceiling fans, appliances, doors, cabinets, windows and other equipment as needed.
- Assists others as requested, including moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
- Performs maintenance work and conducts preventative maintenance on a regular basis.
- Performs regular housekeeping and grounds keeping to company standard.
- Perform room turns as needed according to schedule outlined by community manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Rotating on call assignment
Qualifications

Education and/Or Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
Language Skills
Individual must be able to effectively resolve maintenance problems by often discussing matters with management and other personnel. Ability to use effective communication skills with all maintenance staff for the overall operation of the department.

An individual must be able to meet the physical demands of the job including climbing ladders, bending, stooping and standing for long period of time. In addition, individuals must be able to reach above shoulders and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Position is full-time and will range from 30 to 40 hours per week, depending on projects going on and time of year.
