Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with a co-teacher to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role involves implementing age-appropriate educational activities, ensuring the well-being of each child, and collaborating with parents to support their child's growth.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging activities that align with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Support children with special needs through early intervention strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience for all students.
- Maintain records of student attendance, progress, and behavior.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current in early childhood education practices.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior.
- Early intervention strategies for children with developmental delays or special needs.
- Understanding of child welfare principles and practices.
- Experience working with students in various settings, such as preschool ages 2-5, Reggio, or Montessori environments.
- 12 CD or ECE core units are required. A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- 2 years in a preschool setting preferred.
