Job Title: Community Education Summer Day Camp Site Administrative 2025
Wage Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: Director of Community Education
Pay Grade: TBD- Special Funded Per Annual Budge Allowance
Dept/School: Assigned Campus
Days: 70
Primary Purpose:
Provide a safe, quality Summer day camp program that produces developmentally appropriate, recreational and enrichment-based experiences for the children.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to safely operate 15 passenger van
- Ability to safely lift and carry 50lbs.
Experience:
Experience working with school-age children in an after school or summer program
Training
- Must be First Aid and CPR certified (can be trained by SDC).
- Must participate in the Child Abuse Awareness training
- Attend/Receive the mandatory pre-service training & staff development hours outlined by DFPS minimum standards. (see attached mandatory dates)
- Receive training & work closely with Community Education Staff (training time TBD)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Be knowledgeable about and adhere to proper procedures and expectations set forth by the Department of Family Protective Services, the Summer Day Camp handbook, and the school district employee handbook
- Communicating openly and interacting professionally and positively with school personnel, parents, and camp staff/directors/office personnel
- Utilize computer programs, such as PPT, Word, Excel, registration system
- Portraying a professional and positive work ethic/environment
Assist with check in by:
- Greeting/Welcoming parents and campers
- Checking in campers (time stamped)
- Distributing weekly schedules
- Calling parents of absent campers
- Obtaining permission for field trips/special activities
- Assisting the site leadership personnel with miscellaneous tasks
- Generating & printing documents from the registration system
- Managing the following records:
Campers:
- Field Trip permission
- Illness/incident reports
- Authorization for Dispensing Medication
- Immunization records
- Swim lists
- Camper shirts
Staff:
- Staff development & training documentation
- Reviewing staff time cards
- Proof of request for all background checks
- First Aid/CPR certification
Assist with check out by:
- Checking out campers (time stamped)
- ID parents
- Getting incident/injury forms signed
- Providing reminders or information to parents
Answer phone/returning calls

Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
