Essential Job Responsibilities:
Housekeeping (General)
- Hire, train, supervise, and schedule necessary housekeeping team members.
- Report problems of the building and any equipment to Maintenance Director.
- Report concerns of resident’s well-being to Executive Director.
- Assist with development of housekeeping budget and operate withing budgeted guidelines.
- Requisition supplies needed within the annual budget.
- Work with Maintenance Director to keep building and apartments in good repair.
- Check daily for requests from residents and staff and complete promptly.
- Work with management team to ensure efficient operation of community.
- Ensure a safe living environment.
- Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
- Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.
- Other duties as assigned
Housekeeping (Public Areas)
- Establish a routine cleaning schedule for all public areas
- Maintain neat and clean public areas in the building.
- Provide window washing of public areas inside and out quarterly or more often, if needed.
- Clean public restrooms daily and/or assign and oversee cleaning.
Housekeeping (Individual Units)
- Implement policies and procedures for proper routine cleaning of resident units.
- Create and maintain a resident cleaning schedule.
- Oversee and assist with the cleaning of resident apartments.
- Establish a routine deep cleaning program for residents who have resided in the community for six months.
- Provide window washing inside and out of resident units every six months.
- Deep clean all vacated units in preparation for new residents.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- Must be age 18 or older
- Experience with cleaning occupied apartments, hotel cleaning, or long-term care facilities
- Experience and enjoyment in working with older adults
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
- Lifting arms above head to reach and clean shelves, ledges, and windows
