FEDERAL WORK STUDY – CCC FOUNDATION ADVANCEMENT INTERN

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), the largest community college system in Illinois, is made up of seven colleges and five satellite sites, providing more than 70,000 students each year access to a quality, affordable education.
The Federal Work Study Program (FWS) is a federally-funded financial aid program that provides subsidized part-time employment for eligible students in order to assist them with postsecondary financial needs. City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) complies with the Department of Education’s regulations regarding the FWS program and allows students to benefit from this opportunity.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The FWS program encourages students to gain experience in their prospective fields by placing them in areas and departments aligned with their area of study whenever possible. Students are able to use their wages towards educational and living expenses.
FWS jobs are available in areas such as academic departments, laboratories, libraries, administrative offices, student centers and several off-campus locations.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the current Executive Director of Scholarship Services at the CCC Foundation (CCCF), the Work Study Student will possess a natural curiosity, openness, and have a strong desire to acquire new skills. The student will support the CCCF team with resource development activities, including donor gift stewardship and communication activities. The position requires attention to detail as work will include data entry, list maintenance and communications such as scheduling social media posts. Must have excellent communication skills as student may interact with donors and CCC/CCCF leadership. Performs related duties as required. Training will be provided.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provides general administrative support to the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) Foundation.
· Resource Development & Donor Stewardship
· Assist in the maintenance and accuracy of the Foundation’s donor database by:
· -Enter information into the relationship management system (Bloomerang)
· -Locate and correct data entry errors or report them to supervisor
· -Preform internet research on individuals and/or organizations as directed.
· Assist with scheduling social post and updating social calendar
· May be asked to monitor Foundation general email and redirect to individuals or departments.
Donor Gift Stewardship
· Assist with maintenance of Blackbaud Awards Management Systems
· Assist in the creation of vendor memos for check request and check deposits
· Scan documents and files them as instructed
· May enter data into financial tracking mechanisms
General Support
· Maintains donor confidentiality as well as the confidentiality of department projects undertaken
· Other related duties as assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience
· Experience with database management preferred
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· Skilled in utilizing social media platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Eligibility Requirements:
§ Applicants must be 16years or older, have work permit consent, and eligible to work in the United States
§ Applicants must be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago
§ Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours pre-credit or credit classes
§ Applicants must be pursuing an approved educational credential, degree, or certificate
§ Applicants must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first semester new students)
§ Applicants must be in “good standing” – no City Colleges of Chicago academic restrictions
§ Applicants must not be current Full or Part-time employees of the City Colleges of Chicago
§ All positions are “employment at-will”
