About this Role: The Manager or Director of College Counseling will support College Counselors across the network. This team member is expected to inspire, teach and prepare school based team members to create the conditions of a college going culture on each campus beginning in 9th grade. They will coach and lead others and use data daily to drive their actions. This team member plays a key role in building more robust college counseling programs across the network and supporting our College First strategy.

Responsibilities:
- Increase college persistence and degree attainment for CA graduates.
- Work closely with the Chief of Staff, Network Director of College Partnerships School Leaders, and other teammates in college support roles to ensure aligned goals and execution of strategies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and partners to ensure that goals are met, projects are completed on time, and that we successfully implement our network-wide college-first strategy.
- Balance conflicting priorities to manage workflow, ensure the completion of essential projects, and meet critical deadlines.
- Consistently strive to be an excellent network teammate who is a model across the network. See it as your responsibility to build team culture through participation in macrostructures and intentionally use micro-moments to build identity.
- Monitor progress in all indicators related to scholars at CA High Schools being on track for college admissions to colleges with the highest likelihood or degree attainment and lowest debt.
- Provide direct coaching and support to school-based college counselors and transition counselors.
- Hold college teammates across the network accountable for actions that directly impact preparation for, applications to, and transitions to college.
- Facilitate and/or coordinate professional development for school-based teammates on any topic deemed necessary to meet goals for admissions to and success in college.
- Know the landscape -- checks all the newsletters (college greenlight, contigoed, nacac, sacac, npea, ncan, nola ccan, csgf, uaspire, coalitilition for college, posse, etc
- Is or becomes an expert at federal student aid and scholarship opportunities.
- Manage data and know, through alumni experience and data,the strengths of different postsecondary opportunities in order to make informed recommendations.
- Facilitate best practice sharing across schools.
- Support school-based teammates in being great at the hardest parts of college counseling (e.g., parent convos about financing) and can be the model at any time.
- Deep commitment to our radical college focus. A belief that all people, regardless of their backgrounds and educational pasts, will succeed in college or in an appropriately rigorous
- Shares ownership over outcomes and takes action to both inspire and prepare team members and scholars for college beginning in 9th grade.

- The salary scale for a Manager position is $55,000 to $70,000.
- The salary scale for a Director position is $70,000 to $85,000.
