Collegiate School seeks an Accounting Specialist to assist with the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Department with a primary focus on account reconciliation, student billing support, and monthly journal entries. This position will work closely with the School’s outsourced food service provider, budget managers, and fellow members of the Accounting Team. This is an in-person,12-month position.
This is a full-time, benefited position reporting directly to the Controller and Risk Manager.

General Responsibilities Include
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple school accounts
- Maintain and reconcile various balance sheet accounts each quarter
- Monitor project activity reports monthly, ensuring appropriate classification of revenue and expenses and work with budget managers and other Accounting Team members to investigate variances
- Record monthly credit card revenue and applicable fees for several departmental revenue streams
- Work closely with the Student Billing Coordinator to:
- Reconcile monthly student billing activity
- Troubleshoot issues in billing system
- Plan and carryout annual enrollment process
- Serve as the backup when needed to perform daily responsibilities and assist parents
- Work closely with the School’s food service provider and Auxiliary Director on monthly reporting, invoice reconciliation, start-of-school year setup, and troubleshooting within the Atrium platform.
- Assist with annual audit and Form 990 filing
- Promote positive, professional relationships with colleagues and parents
- As a member of the Finance and Operations Division, assist with various duties as needed
- Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of two years working in a similar accounting role
- Demonstrated experience in the not-for-profit industry
- JK-12 school accounting experience, preferred
- Prior experience with Blackbaud’s Financial Edge NXT, preferred
- Strong degree of financial acumen
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, handle multiple assignments at once, and take ownership of processes, and tasks, and results
- The drive to investigate further, examine more closely, and seek a deeper understanding when results don't align with expectations
