EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Receives directions from Division Director, County Executive Airports Manager, Airport Operations Manager, and higher level supervisory or management personnel.• Performs fueling of fixed wing aircraft and helicopters according to manufacture specifications and industry best practices recommendations.• Checks and add proper oil in accordance with the specifications of the aircraft as requested by customer.• Checks tire pressure, performs potable water and lavatory services as requested.• Tows aircraft to secures tie-down are hangars, pulls aircraft out of hangars for departure using appropriate tug and towing requirements for specific aircraft.• Directs and marshals aircraft to proper parking areas.• Performs Federal Aviation Regulation, Part 139 airfield inspections and advises supervisors of all noted discrepancies. Initiates repairs or corrections for the discrepancies.• Performs daily and monthly fuel truck safety inspections. Completes the proper paperwork for each inspection. Ensures vehicles are in safe operating order and running properly.• Escorts various private and company personnel unfamiliar with the airport grounds as requested to ensure safety compliance.• Assist with daily fuel farm inspections including performing pre-loading and quality control inspections.• Reviews updated operations manual for various aircraft as needed.• Can manage the daily ramp schedule and activities by planning ahead for aircraft parking, utilizing appropriate Airport procedures in absence of the Airport Operations Manager.• Manages and completes all high-risk towing, ensuring that all aircraft are appropriately and safely removed from hangars or aircraft in close proximity to other aircraft following Airport procedures.• Can perform airport morning opening and nightly closeout procedures and can conduct all pre-closing/opening inspections.• Able to assist Operations Desk (CSRs) with radio communications, credit card sales, and rental car distribution, etc., as requested.• Must show the ability to independently close a fuel sale without assistance by selling fuel to customers and processing the sale (using credit card machine, supplying receipts, etc.).• Serves as a role model to employees demonstrating positive interpersonal skills.• Prepares and submits recommendations designed to improve efficiency.• Assist in the training, development and orientation of new employees.• Assumes the duty on the ramp, providing initial services to all arriving aircraft.• Assists the Airport Operations Manager in providing work direction to other Line Technicians, as assigned.• Assist in the procurement of equipment and supplies for the division, including the preparation of bids and bid specifications.• Assists with night shift security responsibilities to include the Terminal Building, Vehicle & Pedestrian Gates, and ramp inspections.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS• Prepares reports as required by management and agencies.• Performs a variety of cleaning task.• Assists with and responds to on airport aircraft emergency in accordance with airport procedures.• Performs other related duties as required.
