Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and development, focusing on seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality in all meals served.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and minimizing waste.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food handling and safety practices.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in catering events as needed, ensuring that all food is prepared to perfection for large groups.
- Assist with bartending duties during events or busy service periods as required.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within fine dining establishments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles.
- Experience in team management with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems and best practices for food handling.
- A background in catering services is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on collaboration within a fast-paced environment.
