Overview: Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Resident Engineer to lead construction inspection projects in Southern NY. The ideal candidate has experience with contractors for highway, traffic signal, and pavement installation for NYSDOT or locally-administered projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead inspection teams or act as solo inspector for bridge and/or highway construction projects, ensuring accurate documentation and quantity measurements.
- Oversee documentation, including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, and quantity checking.
- Ensure work is completed according to NYSDOT specifications.
- Apply project plans, company policies, and guidelines to make decisive decisions.
- Maintain project documentation, communicate with project stakeholders, and coordinate activities on the site.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of transportation construction experience.
- Valid US Driver's License required.
- NICET IV certification required.
- Strong leadership skills and decisive decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable using computers and adapting to software.
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors for extended periods.
- Strong mathematics skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
