Overview :
Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a senior electrical engineer to join our Water group in Binghamton, NY. We have a need for an electrical engineer with at least 10 years of experience. Our Water Discipline is growing, and we have exciting projects to engage motivated engineers who enjoy working on a variety of projects including hydropower (generators, switchgear, transformers, relays, controls and auxiliary electrical systems), electrical equipment for water control facilities including flood control / pumping stations, reservoirs and canals, and on hoisting equipment associated with hydro facilities as well as for navigation facilities. Our projects are unique designs and provide a diverse array of interesting work to keep our staff challenged and engaged. Our upcoming project portfolio includes jobs on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the country.

Responsibilities :
- Manage projects for the repair and / or upgrade / replacement of hydroelectric generators, breakers, transformers and auxiliary systems.
- Lead the design effort for upgrade / replacement of hydroelectric auxiliary electrical systems.
- Direct the development of bid documents (Plans, Specs and Cost Estimates).
- Develop or provide input on design effort for proposals.
- Mentor junior staff such as engineers designers.
- Review / edit / write technical reports.
- Review / edit / write technical specifications.
- Develop design criteria for projects.
- Oversee teams of drafters to prepare design drawings.
- Perform QA / QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
- Lead field inspections and surveys in support of repair, design and construction efforts.
- Develop design alternatives.
- Assist project managers and leaders as needed in the creation of proposals, business development, client information, and designs.
- Develop training materials for clients and provide technical advice.
Qualifications :
Compensation : $89,000-$120,000 DOQ.
