What are the responsibilities and job description for the RESIDENTIAL STAFF APPRAISER position at Collin Central Appraisal District?
Collin Central Appraisal District (Collin CAD) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Residential Staff Appraiser. The Residential Staff Appraiser has responsibilities in the office and in the field. Position responsibilities include discovery and inspection of property; data collection; identifying and updating property characteristics; defining market areas; statistical analysis of market areas and/or property type; sold properties and appraisal data.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Discovery, inspection, data collection and statistical valuation of residential properties utilizing a high degree of accuracy and continual attention to detail.
- Presentation of appraisal value conclusions to property owners and/or tax agents informally, at ARB hearings, arbitration and district court when needed.
- High level of interaction with property owners, property tax agents, the general public and co-workers, exhibiting and always maintaining excellent, professional communication and customer service skills.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required.
- College Degree with emphasis in real estate, finance, economics, mathematics, business administration and/or an appraisal designation is preferred.
- Prior appraisal district experience, related real estate experience or ad valorem tax appraisal experience. RPA designation or nationally recognized tax appraisal designation preferred. Experience may be substituted for education.
- Working knowledge of PACS CAMA Software is a plus.
- Detail oriented.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have the ability to prioritize and work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a team player and display a positive attitude.
This position is classified as exempt with some evening and weekend work required to meet deadlines. Applicants must have reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver’s license, and proof of auto liability insurance.
