We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:
Assist in the successful deployment of the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) project to meet the AEL grant’s goals and objectives. Serve as an additional point of contact to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and help manage AEL staff and instructors. Guide internal processes required to successfully complete grant-funded activities.
*This is a 100% grant-funded position. Therefore, the continuation of the position is subject to continued external funding.**
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and support designated AEL staff.
- Communicate effectively with the principal investigator, AEL director, AEL instructors, and college personnel.
- Ensure compliance with college, funding source, and state and federal standards, regulations, policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Prepare and maintain a dashboard of AEL activities within the grant lifecycle.
- Assist in hiring grant-funded instructional staff.
- Provide purchasing and procurement assistance.
- Supervise the maintenance of TWC database.
- Direct and maintain grant management communication via the web, newsletter, and other informational outlets.
- Ensure financial reports regarding vendor, instructor, and staff pay, sub-awards, purchasing, and closing documents are accurate and reconciled with database records.
- Review and assist with the preparation and submission of grant extension requests, progress reports, financial reports, final reports, and other closeout documents.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of grant-related experience.
Preferred
Master's degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of experience.
