What are the responsibilities and job description for the QMHP - LOSS Team Coordinator position at Collin County Mental Health Retardation Center?
The Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) Team Coordinator is a community-based position providing outreach and resource navigation/connection to those in Collin County who have lost a loved one to suicide. The LOSS Team Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a timely, compassionate, and appropriate response to all suicide referrals in Collin County. This will include all initial, follow-up, and maintenance communications with suicide loss survivors for at least a year as the LOSS Team helps the survivor through their recovery. The coordinator will actively seek community contacts for referrals and resources while fostering relationships with the Collin County Medical Examiners Office, local law enforcement agencies, and other community partners to further develop countywide suicide postvention programming. The coordinator will be responsible for collecting and maintaining ongoing data for the LOSS Team and Center as a whole. The LOSS Team is a volunteer-based program, therefore the coordinator will work closely with community partners to engage and recruit volunteers to aid in the implementation of the LOSS program as well as manage those volunteers. Additionally, the coordinator will identify and maintain an active and robust list of community resources to ensure the team has the appropriate resources needed to assist individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide.
Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification)
Bachelors Degree in psychology, sociology, or related field from an accredited college or university as required
to qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
At least one-year related experience and/or training in the field of mental health services preferred.
Experience providing telehealth services/coaching services desired.
Experience in crisis response preferred.
Experience in community outreach and public speaking preferred.
