Description
Performs moderately complex billing and customer service work. Responsibilities include assisting families and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) staff with Medicaid and insurance benefits questions including Family Cost Share (FCS) and payment arrangements. Completing assigned end of month tasks accurately and timely as established by billing department. Assisting with entering services for billing and data collection. Cross trained in and assisting front end billing areas including insurance verification, authorizations, and reviewing and entering DX codes as directed. Ensuring all ECI data is entered in a timely manner and according to state requirements. Answering questions for ECI staff and other reimbursement staff about presenting FCS and insurance benefits information to families. Assist with answering main ECI phone line and direct calls to the appropriate party. Works under moderate supervision form the Team lead and ECI Division Director with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Additionally:
- Team member acts as a responsible member of the team. Works cooperatively with staff to meet program needs to include accepting additional duties/projects as needed.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification)
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) with
• Six months of experience working in a medical office, agency, or hospital with knowledge of insurance
verification, billing & collections (especially Medicaid, Medicare, & Private Insurance), data entry, and office
experience in general office duties is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge and experience in performing office duties.
• Must be knowledgeable in computer programs such as MSWord and Excel.
• Must be professional and knowledgeable of customer service skills.
• Must be knowledgeable of Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Insurance billing practices.
Salary : $33,920
